Red Rising Series

What a saga by Pierce Brown.

Set in the future when all the planets in our solar system and the asteroid belt are populated. Each planet has its own social norms, environments, codes of conduct etc. On top of that, there is a strict cast system, and each “human” is born to a certain color order, and that is their place in life, and brings them certain….powers is the wrong word….specialties I guess.

You follow one man as he rises from his Red Caste, all the way basically to the top of the system-wide pecking order. It’s honestly very violent and graphic fyi. So skip it if you’re squeamish. I’m generally okay with gore in books, but it’s been a few years and I still flash back to scenes in my head. That’s awesome writing though!! (mom - this one is too scary!)

Have heard rumors of “the last book” in this series coming out soon? So a good time to get started….

Listened to this whole series front to back on Audible, although I have 2 friends who read the physical books and said they were also bangers. So, both forms are great. Pick your poison.
